Exeter’s Samaritans group have staged an exhibition of sculptures entitled ‘Good Grief/Bald Statements’.

The work, displayed at St Martin’s Church in the city, charted the feelings experienced by artist Jean Parker during her recovery from cancer.

Among visitors to the exhibition were Exeter MP Ben Bradshaw and the city’s Lord Mayor Paul Smith.

Mr Bradshaw spoke about the crucial role that "talking therapy" plays in mental health and thanked Samaritan volunteers for their important contribution in this field.

The Samaritans offer emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to anyone experiencing feelings of distress or despair. For more information call 01392 411711.
