HealthSouth Granted Certificate of Public Need to Build Rehabilitation Hospital in Loudoun County, Va.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HealthSouth Corporation today announced it was granted a Certificate of Public Need by the Virginia Department of Health to build a 40-bed freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in West Loudoun County.

This state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital will be an excellent addition to our existing network of hospitals and clinics in the Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Richmond and Petersburg markets."
Groundbreaking for the new hospital is expected in November 2008. Once fully operational, the hospital will employ approximately 200 people and offer the latest rehabilitation technologies and equipment, as well as all private rooms.
HealthSouth's inpatient rehabilitation hospitals provide a higher level of rehabilitative care to patients who are recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injury, amputations, orthopedic, cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
HealthSouth currently operates four inpatient rehabilitation hospitals throughout Virginia, including HealthSouth Fredericksburg, HealthSouth Petersburg, HealthSouth Virginia in Richmond and UVA-HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture hospital in Charlottesville.
