Help on Offer for People With Eating Disorders
For most patients with anorexia their first point of contact is their GP, who may refer them onto a support service such as the Derbyshire Eating Disorders Service, or therapy services run by Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust.
Information and support can also be found through Beat – a charity that specialises in helping patients with eating disorders. Call the Beat helpline on 0845 634 1414, the charity’s special youth helpline on 0845 634 7650, log onto www.b-eat.co.uk or e-mail help@b- eat.co.uk.
Families and carers of anorexia patients can get support from a charity called Anorexia Carers. E-mail anorexiacarers@btinternet. com or visit the website www.anorexiacarers.co.uk.
