DURHAM, N.C., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, bioMerieux, Inc., a world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics, launched its Innovation in Motion tour, a high-tech bus-board presentation theater and mobile laboratory. The full size luxury bus is equipped with the bioMerieux Integrated Solution, including: BacT/ ALERT(R) 3D, VITEK(R) 2 Compact and STELLARA(TM), both diagnostic and IT equipment. The purpose of the 50-city tour is to bring a demonstration of the latest diagnostic technologies to cutting-edge hospital laboratory technicians, pharmacists and physicians across the country. The Innovation in Motion Tour's goal is to demonstrate how laboratory data can be transformed into clinician advisory. The audience will include laboratory professionals, pharmacy and other key administrative roles such as risk management, hospital administrators, clinicians and practitioners.
"This is a unique effort in the diagnostics industry and will provide us the opportunity to demonstrate our technology first-hand with health care innovators across the United States," said Eric Bouvier, bioMerieux's North American president. "Our mission for the tour is to spread awareness about how the collective benefits of integrating diagnostics with clinical decision support software and other information systems can have a positive impact on improving patient care and lowering administrative costs, while streamlining the flow of diagnostic information to clinicians."
The tour begins in St. Louis, Missouri, home of bioMerieux's mid-west U.S. facilities, and the 'birthplace' of VITEK and VITEK 2, the market leading systems for identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing. The theme of the tour is Innovation in Motion, designed to illustrate rapid results, increased productivity, automated bacterial identification, extensive clinical intervention and improved safety. The focus of the tour will be to visit innovative, small to mid-sized hospitals in 50 towns and cities that may not have ready access to demonstrations of this sort. bioMerieux also plans to offer special promotions and discounts during this four-month road show.
