Lisa Wants to Help Baby Ward

August 7, 2008

A Hairdresser who miscarried 21 weeks into her pregnancy is raising money for the special care baby unit at Lincoln County Hospital.

Lisa Otter (26) of Ermine East, Lincoln, said although losing her baby was a terrible experience, she wanted to do something to help premature babies born at the hospital.

“It was a terrible thing as I’d had a scan just the week before and everything was fine,” she said.

“We’re going to try again though although I will be so frightened.”

Lincoln County Hospital is now recruiting staff in its neo- natal unit so that by April it will be able to care for babies born after just 27 weeks gestation.

Miss Otter and her partner Lee Wilson (23) hope to raise pounds2,000 by organising a live performance of The Full Monty stage show followed by a live band.

The event will take place at 7.30am on Friday, September 5, at the hospital’s sports and social club in St Anne’s Road, Lincoln.

Tickets priced at pounds10 are available from Nadina Kitchen by ringing (07812) 209471 or by e-mailing nadina55@breathe.com
