ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Centura Health, Colorado's largest family of hospitals and health services, has entered into a two-year agreement with Nashville-based Aegis to develop and execute a series of programs designed to promote the health of employees and their families living in the Greater Denver area.
Six Centura hospitals in Denver and the surrounding communities are participating in the joint effort launched today to be called Centura Partners in Health. The six hospitals include Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver and St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster.
Aegis is the nation's leading healthcare business development company. Its programs, pioneered in other markets, have been documented to improve community health while saving local employers meaningful dollars in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, workers' compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures. Aegis programs currently can be found in more than 7,000 employer sites across the country.
Leveraging Aegis' road-tested tools, Centura Health will work with Colorado employers to identify the health risks of their employees, then support them in developing meaningful employee wellness programs to promote the early detection, prevention and education initiatives related to specific diseases, such as heart, cancer and diabetes. The Centura Partners in Health program will include components such as employer-based Health Information Centers, Personal Health Surveys, Personal Health Reports, on-site screenings and other personalized programs designed to address a business owner's individual workplace needs.
As part of the agreement, Aegis also will provide Centura Health with its proprietary software and Internet applications that are designed to help employers target health programs that will have the biggest impact for their employees.
"This is a very important initiative for Centura Health because it allows us to extend our mission of nurturing the health of the people in our communities," said Al Banisch, Centura Health senior vice president for planning, marketing and communications. "Our vision is to partner for life with members of our communities to improve their health and vitality. We're excited about working with Aegis, not only because of it proven software and programs, but also because we believe they have the ability to help us achieve this vision."
