Health Briefs Cancer Support Diabetes Support Knitting Class

Ephrata Community Hospital’s Cancer Support Group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Ephrata Cancer Center, 460 N. Reading Road. The group meets the third Monday of each month. Anyone who is battling cancer, has survived it or has lost someone close and would like to share, help, or comfort others is invited to attend. The program is free. Ephrata Community Hospital’s Diabetes Support Group will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Center for Health at Garden Spot Village, 435 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.

This month’s meeting will feature summer exercise tips presented by Cathy Hofmann of the Wellness Center. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 336-6578.

The Ephrata Community Hospital’s Center for Women’s Health will host a complimentary knitting class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 18 in the Health Pavilion Conference Center, 175 Martin Ave.

The class will teach the basic knitting stitches and assist participants by offering individualized instruction. For more information or to register, call 721-5750.
