Two Pittsburgh men were placed in the Indiana County Jail after being arrested on drug charges.
Vondae Duane Freeman, 22, and Jermaine Earle Thompson, 22, both were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Indiana Borough police said officers from the Indiana County Drug Task Force Wednesday observed several people entering and leaving 72 Astor Lane, which was under surveillance for suspected drug activity.
Officers were able to view alleged drug transactions at the residence, police said. Officers entered the home at about 9:30 p.m. and detained the two men.
The investigation uncovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances, including a plastic bag of crack cocaine, several bags with missing corners, an electronic scale, a small bag of marijuana and a small amount of marijuana on a table.
Police found a large bag containing about 28 grams of crack cocaine in Thompson’s pants pocket and $550.
Police said Freeman had $80, and a large bag of crack cocaine was on the coffee table in front of him.
Police also uncovered a small bag of marijuana in a shoe on the living room floor and a bag of crack cocaine in a cardboard box next to the couch.
The pair was arraigned Thursday before Blairsville District Judge Jennifer Rega and placed in the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled Aug. 26 before Rega.
