Adoption Fair at Our Lady of the Chesapeake
Our Lady of the Chesapeake, 8325 Ventnor Road, will host an adoption fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 14. Representatives from several adoption agencies will be on hand, including Catholic Charities, Bethany Christian Services, Creative Adoptions, Adoption Service Information Agency, Anne Arundel County Social Services, One Church; One Child and several more.
There will also be adoption support agencies on hand, including ThinkingAboutAdoption.com and the Center for Adoption Support and Education.
Workshops throughout the day will be offered on adoption-related topics as well as children’s activities and entertainment.
The event is free and no registration is required.

Winning team
The American Legion Post 277 youth baseball team, the Pasadena Saints, recently won the American Legion Baseball League county championship.
The team continued onto the state championship in Frederick with an 18-6 regular season record, but were defeated in the first round by Frederick Post 11, a team that would in turn be defeated in the championship game by Gaithersburg Post 295.
Joe Wright took over coaching duties from Vic Ostrowski, leading the young men to a sixth straight county victory.
Fish talk
Brandon White, chief angler for Tidal Fish magazine, will share his fishing experiences at the next Pasadena Sportsfishing Group’s meeting, 7:30 p.m. Monday, at the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department, 161 Ritchie Highway.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be available for purchase. This month’s meeting will also offer free hot dog night.
Following the meeting, there will be drawings for door prizes, items on the prize table, and for a 50-50 raffle. There also will be a drawing for gift certificates for Tochterman’s Fishing Tackle.
The group’s meetings are open to the public.

Be prepared
The county Office of Emergency Management will be at the Pasadena Senior Center, 4103 Mountain Road, at 10 a.m. Wednesday to provide seniors with an overview on how to develop a personal plan for emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.
