Signs Of Stroke In Stitches

August 13, 2008

According to the American Stroke Association, you can identify the signs of stroke by observing facial and arm weakness, and speech problems. Ask the person to smile, raise both arms above his or her head, and speak a simple sentence.

If the person has any problems completing these steps, call 911.

A free knitting class will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Health Pavilion Conference Center at Ephrata Community Hospital’s Center for Women’s Health, 175 Martin Ave.

The class will teach basic knitting stitches and offer individualized instruction.

For details, and to register, call 721-5750.
