State Officials Head to Veterans Conference
Some New Hampshire officials are in Maryland this week for a conference geared at helping veterans returning from the war.
The Defense Department, Veterans Administration and the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration are holding the session to help states meet the needs of veterans and their families.
New Hampshire is one of 10 states picked to be part of the conference. The New Hampshire team of state and social service officials is led by Associate Health and Human Services Commissioner Nancy Rollins. She says the conference gives the state an opportunity to receive specialized help to improve mental health and substance abuse services to veterans.
