Lewiston Rec Announces Fall Tennis
LEWISTON – Lewiston Recreation Department is preparing for its fall tennis leagues.
Mixed doubles in divisions A, B and C will begin Sunday, August 24.
Men’s B and C singles will start Monday, August 25 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Women’s B and C singles will run at the same time beginning Wednesday, August 27. Men’s and women’s A singles run 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, starting August 28.
Registration may be completed online or at the rec department between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Please sign up as soon as possible so that a schedule may be completed in time. New players are welcome.
Fees are $40 for Lewiston residents and $50 for non-residents. It is a 7-week schedule.
The summer doubles league is now in the playoffs and should be completed by next week.Winthrop ‘Y’ fall programs scheduled
WINTHROP – Winthrop Area YMCA announces the following fall programs:
The after-school Kids Club program for boys and girls in Grades 3 through 5 will begin August 28.
The program will run everyday there is school or a school workshop during the the school year from the end of the school day to 5:30 p.m.
There is room for 20 students, and applications are being accepted.
Youth soccer will kick off Sept. 6 at the YMCA Camp Field. Registration forms will be available the first week of school or by calling the YMCA office.
The program is open to all boys and girls from 4-K to Grade 5.
This year will include games with Monmouth and Sabattus for groups in grade 2 and up.
Youth field hockey begins Sept. 6 at the Winthrop High School field hockey field. Registration forms will be available the first week of school or by calling the YMCA Office. The program is open to participants in grades 3 through 5.
