Pitt Students’ Return to Hamper Traffic
Some streets in Oakland will be closed Tuesday through Friday to accommodate the return of students to the University of Pittsburgh.
Bigelow Boulevard will be closed between Forbes and Fifth avenues from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Lothrop Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
University Place will be closed between Fifth Avenue and O’Hara Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Those parking in the Soldiers and Sailors Garage will be able to exit onto University Place but must turn right toward O’Hara Street.
University Drive B from Allequippa Street to University Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Parking on Ruskin Avenue will be restricted from Tuesday through Saturday to students moving into Ruskin Hall.
Schenley Quadrangle will be closed to all vehicles until Aug. 24.
Heavier traffic is expected near the university on Wednesday because of Freshman Convocation, which will be held at 3 p.m. in the Petersen Events Center.
