Care Communications, Inc. Announces Record-Paced First Half Growth Fueled By New Client Wins and Rising Demand for Revenue Improvement and Remote Coding Services
Posted on: Tuesday, 19 August 2008, 09:01 CDT
Care Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in the health information management (HIM) industry, today announced its Q1 and Q2 2008 total revenues grew by 16 percent compared to the same period in 2007.
"Economic and regulatory changes continue to escalate demand for HIM services among hospitals and health networks," said Hal Walsh, Care Communications' senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We're also seeing a growing demand for cancer registry services and medical record abstraction. With a highly experienced staff of cross trained HIM professionals, we've enabled our clients to effectively adapt to the significant changes in HIM while expanding our market presence in clinical outcomes research."
Growth in the first half of 2008 outstripped a record pace in 2007, as Care Communications' remote coding, medical record coding audit, clinical documentation, and clinical outcomes services experienced strong demand.
"HIM in hospitals is in the middle of a perfect storm of regulatory and management challenges. On the heels of a new (MS-DRG) coding system, comes the Revenue Audit Contractor (RAC) program. Providers face these heightened regulatory requirements while simultaneously dealing with staff shortages and transitioning to electronic health records. HIM, which is at the heart of the revenue cycle, must maintain accuracies while preparing for change, because simple mistakes can literally cost a hospital millions in revenues or put them at undue compliance risk, but our unique approach and adherence to the highest quality standards consistently helps hospitals overcome these challenges," added Walsh.
Organizations across the nation that rely on Care Communications run the gamut from hospitals, healthcare systems, universities and research organizations to large group purchasing organizations like VHA Inc., Provista, and the US government. Some of the more noteworthy organizations to sign on with the company in the past three months include:
