Woman Found Badly Injured

A WOMAN was taken to hospital with major facial injuries following an incident in Coventry yesterday.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was found under a bridge at Phoenix Way, near the Ricoh Arena at 12.45pm.

She was taken by land ambulance to the University Hospital, Walsgrave.

The incident caused major disruption in the surrounding roads. The A444 was closed between the Hen Lane junction and the B4118 Holbrook Way junction.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We responded with an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. On arrival crews found a woman, underneath a bridge, who had suffered major facialinjuries. She was taken by land ambulance, with a doctor on board, to hospital.”
