MMC Selects Accenx Exchange As Interoperability Platform

Accenx, a provider of health information and exchange solutions, has announced that MemorialCare Medical Centers, a provider of healthcare services, has selected Accenx Exchange as the interoperability platform to support their physician outreach program.

According to the company, Accenx Exchange is a wide-area integration platform for creating health information exchanges. Using a software-as-a-service delivery model, it provides the low up-front investment, deployment, and guaranteed service levels essential to minimizing project risk while maximizing adoption by community physicians.

The company claims that Accenx Exchange platform provides the flexibility to deliver full interoperability to physician practices with an electronic medical record application, while providing convenient and efficient distribution of results for practices using paper charts. This level of interoperability is achieved as a fully-managed service with only a small hardware appliance in each location, eliminating the costs, risks and support challenges inherent with installing proprietary software, in hundreds of locations, widely dispersed throughout the community.

David Cheng, CEO of Accenx, said: "MemorialCare Medical Centers (MMC) has been recognized as one of the most wired healthcare systems in the country, and we're excited to have Accenx Exchange selected as their platform for physician outreach. With our Software-as-a-Service delivery model, Accenx Exchange will allow MMC and their physician community to realize the benefits of information sharing much more quickly, all without the disruption of installing and maintaining new software."
