RMA of Michigan Hosts 1st Metro Detroit Area Hope Uncorked

August 22, 2008

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ — Hope Uncorked, exclusive wine tasting events to benefit Fertile Hope: a gala hosted by RMA of Michigan will take place on November 1, 2008 from 7-11 pm at Wyndgate Country Club, Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Hope Uncorked is Fertile Hope’s signature wine and food tasting event held annually in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. As first-time hosts of this event in the Metro Detroit area, RMA of Michigan hopes to duplicate the support and success Fertile Hope has experienced in other major cities. At this event, Metro Detroit area prominent physicians and distinguished professionals will enjoy exquisite wines paired with generous samplings of Mediterranean, Asian, Caribbean, and French cuisine all paired with the finest regional wines. A champagne reception, live music and a spectacular silent auction are part of the extravagant evening.

Fertile Hope is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors whose medical treatments present the risk of infertility. Founded by cancer survivor and fertility preservation advocate Lindsay Nohr Beck, Fertile Hope focuses its activities on fertility awareness, education, financial assistance, research and support.

Over 2.5 million cancer survivors in the U.S. are still in their childbearing years and each year approximately 140,000 young cancer patients are newly diagnosed and put at risk for permanent infertility. Research indicates that among a variety of health and wellness issues, infertility is the most important to young survivors, however, less than 10% are ever informed of their risk by an oncology healthcare professional. Fertile Hope is the only organization of its kind, taking the wealth of knowledge from the fertility world and making it accessible, relevant and actionable for cancer patients — before, during and after their cancer treatments. With the proper information and support, survivors can become parents. Proceeds raised at Hope Uncorked will directly benefit young adult cancer patients.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available and tickets for this event go on sale September 15, 2008. Please contact Alice Hull at (248) 619-3113 for more information or visit http://www.rmami.com/ .
