Discovery Shop’s fall preview, featuring a collection of fall clothing, shoes and accessories, is Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, at 1534 Barton Road, Redlands. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The shop sells “gently used” clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, jewelry, art, furniture and more. Donations are accepted during regular business hours.

Kids’ World after-school program at the Redlands Community Center began Aug. 13. The program, for children from kindergarten through fifth grade, combines education and fun and runs 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Program includes an hour of homework help and computer free time, arts and crafts, guest speakers and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Cost is $35 per month. Redlands Theatre Festival presents five plays in repertory July 11 through Aug. 23. This year’s shows are “Beehive,”"Big River,”"The Good Doctor,”"Tuesdays With Morrie” and “Beautiful Bodies.” Performances are at 8:30 p.m. at the Avice Meeker Sewall Theater in Prospect Park. Story times at the A.K. Smiley Public Library, 125 W. Vine St., Redlands. Family Story Time 7 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Tiny Tot Story Time, rhymes, songs and stories for toddlers ages 2 to 3, 10 a.m. Thursdays. Preschool Story Time for ages 4 to 6 at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Monthly bag sale at the Friends of the A.K. Smiley Public Library bookstore, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6. Fill a bag with used books for $3 for members, $4 for non-members. The bookstore is on the lower level of the library, at 125 W. Vine St., Redlands. Bag sale is the first Saturday of the month.
