Youngsters Turned into True Lifesavers

Young people from across Gloucestershire have been transformed into lifesavers following the completion of a St John Ambulance course.

The youngsters, aged 10 to 16, qualified at a youth first aid day at the county headquarters in Staverton.

The course taught them how to deal with medical emergencies from choking and electric shocks to severe allergic reactions and chest pains.

Jim Jones, St John Ambulance Gloucestershire's commercial marketing officer, said: "St John Ambulance believes that it is never too early to start learning vital first aid skills."
