Govt Joins Hands With GE Healthcare
AHMEDABAD: The state government and GE Healthcare signed an MoU for a public-private partnership model for the advancement of the medical technology in all teaching hospitals and medical colleges in the state.
As part of the partnership, advanced diagnostic equipment like brightspeed computed tomography (CT) and high-definition MRI will be installed in medical colleges located in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. The new facilities will be operational in five to seven months.
“This unique public-private partnership in the country will provide advanced healthcare technology to people at affordable costs which will be 30 to 50 per cent less than that charged by private clinics,” health minister Jay Narayan Vyas said.
President and CEO of GE Healthcare V Raja said GE and its associates will invest Rs 35 crore on equipment.
