Cough Medicines Off the Market
Authorities in the United Kingdom have removed six cough medicines from their pharmacies and moved about 100 other products to "behind the counter" until their labeling is changed to state they are not for children under two years of age. The alert concerns 12 active ingrethents: brompheniramine, chlor phenamine, dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, ephedrine, guaifenesin, ipecacuanha, phenylephrine, pholcodine, pseudoephedrine, oxymetazoline, and xylometazoline.
