DaVita Keeps Dialysis Patients Informed Across Gulf Coast in Response to Hurricane and Tropical Storms
Posted on: Friday, 29 August 2008, 15:00 CDT
As a result of the recent hurricane and tropical storms in the Gulf Coast, some DaVita Inc. clinics in those areas will be unable to provide dialysis services until evacuation orders are lifted.
DaVita(R) is proactively communicating with all patients about their evacuation plans and dialysis needs.
Dialysis patients are encouraged to call the Guest Services Contact Center at (800) 400-8331 to help find an open clinic and to schedule treatments. DaVita has made this service available to all displaced dialysis patients requiring treatment in the Gulf Coast.
Kidney failure patients - who require dialysis treatments three times per week - are at high risk during emergencies as they depend on life-sustaining dialysis treatments. The DaVita Hotline is a resource to let patients and their families know whether clinics are open for treatment. Live team members assist in making alternative arrangements for treatment if necessary.
