India Records Highest Trauma Death Cases

August 30, 2008

BANGALORE: With 1,05,000 trauma deaths recorded in 2006, India leads the world with one death in every 5 minutes and one crash every two minutes, say experts.

Dr Micheal J Parr, president of International Trauma Care, stressed the need to address this issue immediately. PRIME, BGS Global Hospital under the aegis of Indian Chapter of International Trauma Care, conducted a two-day workshop on “Comprehensive Trauma Life Support 2008″ in the city on Tuesday and Wednesday. More than 70 doctors participated at the workshop.

The workshop comprised a series of lectures on ABCDE – airway, breathing, circulation, disability and exposure, followed by systemic organ injuries – head, chest, abdominal and intensive care management.
