Eight Gastro Cases in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Eight fresh cases of gastroenteritis were reported here on Thursday. Six of the patients were admitted in civil hospital and two others, in a local private hospital.

While the health department claimed the situation was under control, citing that no new case was reported from Sherpur and Giaspura, which had hitherto been the worst-affected areas, with a large number of cases being reported from here over the last few days. However, new cases have come up, one each from Islamganj and Amarpura, and six from Adarsh Nagar street numbers six and eight.

Dr RS Grewal, epidemiologist from the health department, said the situation is under control in Giaspura.
