Wellness Series on for Cancer Patients

RUMFORD – Rumford Hospital, in conjunction with the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center, is offering a weekly six-part series on “Holistic Approaches to Wellness for Cancer Patients, Survivors and Caregivers” in September and October. The series will be presented free from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursdays at the hospital.

The second session will be held on Sept. 11 with Rumford Hospital registered dietitian Jane Wardwell. She will present “Customized Nutrition to Help You Thrive.” Wardwell will be joined by Red Hill Natural Foods owner Barbara Smith Baker.

Other sessions will cover exercise through breathing and meditation, managing pain and fatigue, the emotional and spiritual impact of cancer and gathering resources through the Internet.
