Down Syndrome Association – Awareness Picnic Set — Food, Games, Music Scheduled
The Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-South invites everyone to the fourth annual North Mississippi Down Syndrome Awareness Picnic on Saturday.
The picnic will be at Goodman Oaks Church of Christ, 1700 Goodman Road E. in Southaven from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and join a fun day filled with food, games and music.
Mayors Nat Baker (Horn Lake), Greg Davis (Southaven), Chip Johnson (Hernando) and Sam Rikard (Olive Branch) will sign proclamations declaring October “Down Syndrome Awareness Month” Schools Supt. Milton Kuykendall and director of special services Emily Nelson will also be in attendance to show their support.
The goal is to promote community awareness for individuals with Down syndrome, as well as let people in the North Mississippi area with children and family members with Down syndrome know about the organization.
The mission of the Down Syndrome Association of the Mid-South is supporting and empowering people with Down syndrome and their families.
