Brazilians on Mercy Mission

HEALTH bosses have flown to the West Midlands from Brazil to learn how to manage emergency calls.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has some of the best results in the UK for treating patients quickly.

Senior health officials from Brazil dropped into the headquarters at Brierley Hill to see how the service operates the urban search and rescue team and co-ordinates emergency planning.

Sergio Luiz Cortes da Silveira, health chief in Rio de Janeiro, described the operation as "impressive".
