Wales: Charity Walk to Snowdon Summit
LEADING cancer charity Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for people to walk to the summit of Snowdon.
Every year hundreds of people dig out their boots and waterproofs to walk to the top of the highest mountain in either Wales or England to raise money for cancer patients in the UK.
Usually walkers descend on Llanberis just twice a year for Marie Curie Cancer Care but this year an extra date has been added due to the event’s popularity.
Community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care in North Wales Rachel Thomas, said: “We have already taken one group of fundraisers to the summit in June.
“But it’s not too late for people to rise to the challenge of Snowdon.
“In October we have two organised walks – October 4 and 5 – and now is the time for people to give us a call and sign up for the walk.”
PARTICIPANTS in the climb are asked to pay a registration fee of pounds 10 and to raise a minimum of pounds 100 in sponsorship.
Anyone interested in hiking to the top of Wales’ highest mountain for Marie Curie Cancer Care should contact Rachel on 01352 754596.
