MinuteClinic, a provider of retail-based healthcare in the US, has opened its first clinics in South Carolina. The healthcare centers will serve patients inside three CVS/pharmacy stores in the Columbia metropolitan area and a fourth CVS location in Simpsonville, in Greenville County.
MinuteClinic healthcare centers are reported to be staffed by masters-prepared, board-certified nurse practitioners who specialize in family healthcare and are trained to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common family illnesses such as strep throat and ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections. Common vaccinations such as influenza, tetanus, MMR and hepatitis A and B are also available.
Chip Phillips, president of MinuteClinic, said: "Through our conveniently located store-based clinics in South Carolina, we will be expanding access to high-quality, affordable treatment for common family illnesses at a time when there is increased consumer demand for more patient-centric healthcare."
