Local Health Official Leads National Group
Gary Cox, director of the Tulsa City-County Health Department, formally assumed the duties of president of the National Association of County and City Health Officials on Tuesday at the association’s annual meeting in Sacramento, Calif.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve as president of such a highly regarded association dedicated to providing national leadership to work with local health departments and others to improve health outcomes in our country,” Cox said in a news release.
The National Association of County and City Health Officials represents nearly 3,000 U.S. local health departments.
Cox has led the Tulsa City-County Health Department since 1994.
