Health Center Honors Calais Legislator

MILLINOCKET – Katahdin Valley Health Center honored state Rep. Anne Perry, D-Calais, as the recipient of KVHC’s State Legislative Award at its board of directors meeting held at the Young House last month.

During National Community Health Center Week, KVHC publicly recognizes a member of the Legislature in recognition and appreciation of that member’s efforts as an advocate for health centers.

KVHC Chief Executive Officer Durward Humphrey presented this year’s award to Perry.

Perry represents District 31 in the Legislature, which includes Calais, Baileyville, Baring, Charlotte, Passamaquoddy Indian Township, Passamaquoddy Pleasant Point, Perry and Robbinston plus part of the Unorganized Territory of northern Washington County.

Perry is a family nurse practitioner affiliated with Calais Regional Medical Services, an operating department of Calais Regional Hospital. In addition to her family nurse practitioner duties she serves as House chair of the Health and Human Services Committee of the Legislature.
