Midnight Opening for City Pharmacy
A CITY pharmacy is to stay open until midnight seven days a week under a pilot scheme for walk-in clinics offering treatment for minor injuries and a range of other services.
Boots in Shandwick Place is one of eight pharmacies across the country taking part in the Scottish Government scheme.
The late opening hours are due to start at the end of December.
The Inch Pharmacy in Walter Scott Avenue will also take part in the walk-in pilot scheme from the end of November, opening 9am- 5.30pm on weekdays and 9am-1pm on Saturdays, and offering "healthy living" services including diet and mental health advice.
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said the walk-in pharmacies would be monitored closely to establish their effectiveness. She said: "The Scottish Government is committed to making it easier for people to access high-quality healthcare as locally as possible."
