MinuteClinic, a provider of retail-based health care, has opened its first retail health care center in Massachusetts inside a CVS/pharmacy store in Medway.

Four additional clinics are expected to open inside CVS/pharmacy stores in the near future in Bridgewater, Danvers, Taunton and Tewksbury. MinuteClinic expects to open up to 28 locations in Massachusetts in 2008 and anticipates having about 100 clinics in communities across Massachusetts where CVS/pharmacy stores are located.

Chip Phillips, president of MinuteClinic, said: "Through our conveniently located store-based clinics, we will be expanding access to high-quality, affordable care for common family illnesses in Massachusetts. We are committed to making our innovative model of care part of Massachusetts' precedent-setting efforts to broaden access to quality health services."
