MEDSEEK Launches eMarketing Advisor Service to Transform Benchmarking Data into Effective Marketing Strategies

September 18, 2008

MEDSEEK, the leading provider of enterprise portal connectivity solutions, announced today the general availability of eMarketing Advisor at the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development 2008 Annual Educational Conference, which takes place Sept. 17-20, 2008, in San Francisco. The eMarketing Advisor service delivers benchmarking and utilization reports in conjunction with marketing strategies and tactics designed to improve website effectiveness for hospital organizations.

The eMarketing Advisor service provides hospitals and health systems with the ability to benchmark and compare the performance of their website metrics against similar peers. Subscribers to this service also receive quarterly recommendations from experienced marketing and advertising experts to help them update and measure the results of their promotional campaigns, which are designed to attract new patients and maintain patient loyalty.

“eMarketing Advisor, available to both MEDSEEK clients and non-clients, will allow hospitals to develop a comprehensive plan for optimizing online initiatives while supporting offline programs with a complementary, measurable web component,” said Peter Kuhn, MEDSEEK’s president. “We provide ten key data points for website analysis, as well as the communication strategies needed to turn the data into actionable programs with tangible results.”

Founded in 1996, MEDSEEK boasts more than 600 provider clients in North America and has the single largest database of information. As the industry’s leading portal supplier based on the number of installations, MEDSEEK is also now the sole vendor offering a combined best-practices based portal analysis and consulting service.

Added Kuhn, “Prior to eMarketing Advisor, hospitals could only collect and analyze web data in a vacuum, as they lacked access to comparative data from similar organizations. Our customers and the overall market have been demanding a means to contextualize and convert data into successful campaign initiatives. In response, we developed eMarketing Advisor.”

Hospitals that subscribe to eMarketing Advisor will receive quarterly benchmarking reports based on ten criteria. Additionally, they will meet quarterly with eMarketing advisors to review the results and update the strategic and tactical plans, as well as the measurement tools, for the website. The benchmarking reports include:

— Comparative Report that illustrates how the website metrics of the subscribing hospital compare to those of the hospital’s peers;

— Individual Report that contains only the metrics and trends of the individual subscriber’s portal; and

— Report Card that hospitals can use to plan and track their performance.

In addition to interpreting the reports, the advisors assist in developing or updating website strategies and tactics for content as it relates to campaign schedules and goals. Furthermore, the advisors supply customized reports and an ROI tool for measuring results.
