Vision for Vale of Leven

HEALTH chiefs have unveiled the shape of things to come for Vale of Leven Hospital.

And a key pledge is that record numbers of patients will be treated.

New services planned for the campus include a rehabilitation service, a day hospital for older people and a GBP15million care home.

Alexandria will also get a purpose-built GBP17m medical centre.

A public consultation will begin in November and last until January 2009.

Tom Divers, chief executive of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: "This vision sets out an ambitious plan for the Vale of Leven campus which will end years of uncertainty for staff patient and hospital supporters and see the Vale continue to be a vibrant and busy NHS site. "
