Workway Nursing's Los Angeles Division Awarded Prestigious Joint Commission Health Care Staffing Services Gold Seal of Approval(TM) Certification

Posted on: Friday, 19 September 2008, 15:00 CDT

Workway Nursing Corp. announced today that its Los Angeles nursing division has earned the Gold Seal of Approval(TM) for health care staffing services presented by the Joint Commission, on August 22, 2008. Founded in 1951, the Joint Commission (www.jointcommission.org) is the nation's oldest and largest standards setting and accrediting body in health care. An independent, non-profit organization, the Joint Commission was established to improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provisions of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations.

The Joint Commission's HCSS Certification honor is largely due to the company's implementation of core values centered on integrity, accountability, and respect. Workway Nursing's Los Angeles division has now reached national standards involving staff's competency, placement procedures and employee performance monitoring.

Executive Vice President, Michael Agee foresees the impact of this certification to be as follows:

-- Medical facilities can confidently turn to Workway Nursing for certified, qualified health care professionals to meet their work force needs; and

-- Nurses and therapists contracting with Workway Nursing are assured they are working with the area's top organizations to provide quality care and successful patient outcomes.

About the Health Care Staffing Services Certification Program

The Joint Commission's HCSS Certification Program is an independent, thorough evaluation of staffing firms' abilities to provide competent staffing services and was developed in 2004 to meet quality oversight needs resulting from the ongoing shortages of nurses and other health care personnel. It has successfully established the first set of formalized quality standards to which staffing companies are subjected.
