National Alliance for Healthy Communities Sponsors High Desert Health Summit on Friday, October 10th

VICTORVILLE, Calif., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Alliance for Healthy Communities is hosting a High Desert Health Summit on Friday, October 10th, 2008 beginning at 8am with check in at 7:30am. Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group is partnering with NAFHC to promote and participate in this local event. A complimentary full breakfast will be served.

Local business leaders from within the High Desert communities of Victorville, Apple Valley and Hesperia will meet to discuss Healthcare topics. Featured key-note speaker will be Herb Schultz, Senior Advisor to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and highlighted speaker will be Brad Mitzelfelt, Supervisor, First District San Bernardino County. Health Affiliated Organizations, Business Leaders and Local Public Officials are expected to attend.

Schultz was recently promoted by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the post of Senior Advisor to the Governor. In this role, he works closely with the Governor and also serves as a key deputy to Chief of Staff Susan Kennedy, advancing the Governor's policy agenda.

Topics will include partnerships to promote health prevention through physician involvement, healthy eating programs for kids, wellness incentives and health education opportunities within the business community, working together to educate local community regarding current health issues and health programs by non-profit agencies collaborating with local businesses to promote.
