Patient Safety Plan is on Way
A NEW strategy to improve patient safety is to be revealed by NHS Lothian.
At its board meeting today, health chiefs will unveil plans to make NHS Lothian one of the top 25 health organisations in the world.
The NHS Lothian Quality Improvement Strategy will run until 2011, and it is expected the board will rubber stamp its implementation.
Dr Charles Swainson, medical director for NHS Lothian, said: “We want to make a safe system even safer to ensure high quality care for patients. This strategy sets out, in detail, the steps we need to take to achieve our ambition.”
