Easy to Use LIS Solution From Fletcher-Flora to Integrate Multi-Site Oncology Practice Lab and Centralize System Administration
Fletcher-Flora Health Care Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets:FFLH) today announced that Florida Cancer Specialists of Fort Myers, Florida has signed a Master License Agreement to implement its FFlex eSuite(R) laboratory information system (LIS) solution in their multi-facility operation.
After years of tremendous growth, Florida Cancer Specialists wanted LIS technology that not only helped them integrate their 22 remote laboratory sites, but would also easily expand as their operation continued to grow. FFlex eSuite LIS offers a flexible, modular design and variety of optional Web-based applications that allow secure access throughout their operation to a central database for orders, inquiries, quality control and reporting. “Single point administration of our database was imperative to effectively manage labs at each of our remote sites,” said John Hodson, Laboratory Manager at Florida Cancer Specialists. According to Hodson, “FFlex eSuite’s Web-based design will not only streamline our workflow and seamlessly integrate our operation, but will help me manage system administration for our multiple sites from a single office location.” Florida Cancer Specialists will also be deploying FFlex eSuite’s new rules-based container routing and sample handling applications, which include drawlists, container manifests, and interactive sample receiving screens. These enhanced functions will improve collection and movement of specimens between facilities, while providing seamless collation and distribution of results throughout the practice.
In addition to integrating their remote facilities, FFlex eSuite was selected based on the strong relationship between Fletcher-Flora and Florida Cancer’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) vendor, Altos Solutions. For years, the two companies have worked together to integrate their technologies, and they have co-developed an interface between FFlex eSuite LIS and Altos Solutions’ OncoEMR. “Altos and Fletcher Flora are a great team; together we’re delivering a system that provides terrific value to the practice,” said John Willey, President and CEO of Altos Solutions. “The physicians particularly like being able to review lab results from home or at the hospital; anywhere there is an internet connection.”
FFlex eSuite is a Web-based suite of LIS solutions designed to streamline workflow, manage data and deliver clinical test results for the clinical lab. FFlex eSuite’s unique modular design simplifies implementation and allows labs to choose applications needed to support the services of their laboratory. FFlex eSuite meets a laboratory’s growth potential using exclusive connectivity technology that supports any number of user workstations, and integrates any number of instrument interfaces, third-party systems and remote access facilities.
