Sanford Health Announces Pediatrician for Duncan Clinic
Wendy Y. Pitt will join Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan when it opens next summer – the first pediatrician appointed for the facility.
Pitt is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the Wright State University Integrated Pediatrics Residency in Dayton, Ohio. She has worked at the Okmulgee Indian Health Center in Okmulgee and most recently at Eagle Pass Pediatric Health Clinic in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Pitt is one of two pediatricians who will see patients at Sanford Children’s Clinic Duncan. Sanford Health plans to announce a second pediatrician before the clinic opens.
The clinic, being built on a 4-acre site on the northwest corner of the Duncan Regional Hospital campus, is the first in a series of Sanford Children’s Clinics funded by a $400 million donation from businessman and philanthropist Denny Sanford.
The new 8,000-square-foot facility was designed to look like a castle.
Sanford Health’s system includes nearly 370 physicians in 115 clinics, 23 hospitals, 13 nursing homes, 17 assisted-living facilities and congregate living locations, 27 home health services and 19 pharmacies. Its primary 500-bed nonprofit tertiary care hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., serves an average of 30,000 inpatients annually.
