FARMINGTON, Conn. – June 16, 2005 – DrugMax announced that it has entered into an agreement with Medifast, a weight loss and weight management company, to open Hi-Energy Weight Loss Centers within its Familymeds and Arrow Specialty Pharmacies.

DrugMax plans initially to establish five Hi-Energy Weight Loss Centers in the greater Hartford, Conn., market, followed by a national roll-out.

The centers will operate within or adjacent to existing Familymeds and Arrow Specialty Pharmacies. Patients at the new Hi-Energy Weight Loss Centers will work with a weight counselor and a DrugMax Clinical Pharmacist to design customized programs using Hi-Energy portion controlled meal replacements and nutritional supplements.

“Obesity is a major health concern, and we believe that our specialty pharmacies are optimally suited to help combat this problem,” said Ed Mercadante, co-chairman and chief executive officer of DrugMax. “By opening Hi-Energy Weight Loss Centers in our pharmacies, DrugMax has created an opportunity to both attract new patients seeking professionally oriented pharmacy services and provide chronic patients with a proven and clinical weight loss approach.”
