Day Wins Athena Award From Pontaic Group

PONTIAC – Vicki Day has received the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Award.
Day will be honored at a lunch celebrating women in business, set for noon Oct. 2 at Baby Bull’s Restaurant, 1025 W. Reynolds St. Cost is $17.50; call the chamber at (815) 844-5131.
The speaker will be Sharon Ingram, an obstetrician/gynecologist for OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Day was nominated by Carol Flessner, executive director of the Livingston County Mental Health Board, and received several letters of support, said Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Cheri Lambert.
Day began her career as a registered nurse at Saint James and later became director of the operating room and outpatient care.
She later received licensing as an advanced practice nurse and a family nurse practitioner. She currently works for the OSF Medical Group in the Chatsworth office, Lambert said.
Lambert said winners are chosen for assisting women in reaching their full leadership potential, demonstrating excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession and contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life of others.
