Four people died when a rescue helicopter carrying car accident victims crashed Sunday in suburban Washington, D.C., officials said.
A spokesman for the Prince George's County, Md., fire department told CNN the Maryland State Patrol helicopter failed to arrive at Andrews Air Force sparking a search that turned up wreckage on a park trail in the Capitol Heights/Ritchie, Md., area just east of Washington.
One of the two car crash victims died in the helicopter as well as the helicopter's pilot, a paramedic and an emergency technician. Another car accident victim, described as a teenage girl, survived the helicopter crash and was being treated at a hospital, CNN reported.
