Girl Scouts Offers Open Registration Night

September 29, 2008

Girls in the Dubuque area can learn more about Girl Scouts during an open registration night from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall, 2155 University Ave.

The evening is conducted to recruit new girls and leaders, as well as to create new troops. In addition, girls attending the sessions get a taste of Girl Scouting by enjoying a craft, learning a song or playing a game.

All girls in grades K-12 are welcome to attend the sessions with their parents or guardians.

In addition, the Girl Scout Shop will be set up and items to help start up a new troop will be offered for sale, including the new journey books, sashes, vests, shirts and more.

For more information on becoming a Girl Scout or a volunteer, check the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois Web site at www.GSEIWI.org or call 563-583-9169.
