Discussion on Planning for New Sick Kids

September 29, 2008

HEALTH bosses are preparing to meet with council officials to discuss planning permission for the new Sick Kids hospital.

It is expected the series of meetings will take place to discuss how best to ensure outline planning permission for the eagerly anticipated hospital goes through without a problem.

It is seen as the next crucial step after the Scottish Government approved NHS Lothian’s business case for the hospital and agreed to supply the bid with GBP 50 million.

The acceptance came much quicker than was expected, meaning it is highly likely the new hospital will be up and running before the target date of 2012.
