Three-Way Health Meeting Set for October
According to news.gov.hk, Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow has met Mainland health officials to discuss the three- way meeting slated for October. He and Vice Minister of Health Professor Huang Jiefu today discussed the arrangements and agenda for the 4th Joint Meeting of Senior Health Officials of the Mainland, Hong Kong& Macau. It will be held on the Mainland after the third joint meeting was held in Hong Kong last October. Dr Chow said the Ministry of Health has been maintaining close liaison with the Health, Welfare & Food Bureau and the Department of Health. “Mutual communication and co-operation, particularly on infectious diseases, has been greatly enhanced since SARS,” he said. First convened by the Chinese Ministry of Health in 2002, the three-way meeting aims to promote timely communication, experience sharing, co- operation, health reform and development as well as disease control.
