Care Communications Inc. Establishes Health Information Management Advisory Board

Care Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in the health information management (HIM) industry, today announced the establishment of an HIM advisory board, made up of industry leaders who will consult with the company on changes and developments in the HIM profession and its dynamic role in the healthcare industry.
"The HIM advisory board, which represent some of the most forward thinking and respected HIM professionals in the industry, will bring fresh, knowledgeable industry perspectives to Care Communications and create a critical feedback loop to help ensure our products and services stay ahead of the curve," said Leslie Fox, Care Communications' CEO. Founding members of the advisory board include:
-- Rita Bowen, MA-HIMT, RHIA, CHPS - Rita Bowen is enterprise administrative director of health information for Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tenn. Bowen has been an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) for more than 30 years and has served on the AHIMA Board of Directors since 2006 where she currently serves as President elect. A regular speaker at AHIMA engagements nationwide, she has been published in the AHIMA Journal and InConfidence.
-- Jean Smith Clark, RHIA - Jean Smith Clark is service line director, health information and accreditation services at Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC. Clark serves as chairman for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) House of Delegates Workgroup and is a past President of AHIMA. She is a frequent speaker and author of HIM publications.
-- Mark Dietz, RHIA - Mark Dietz is an international healthcare management consultant and a member of the AHIMA Board of Directors. He previously worked as Principal/Partner for Health Care Consulting at Deloitte & Touche and has authored and presented numerous articles and presentations on various HIM, electronic health record planning and implementation, and revenue cycle management -related topics throughout the country.
-- Susan Postal, MBA, RHIA - Susan Postal is vice president, HIM for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Ms. Postal has more than 27 years of experience in HIM. A regular speaker and state and national volunteer with the AHIMA and the Federation of American Hospitals, Postal serves on the American Health Information Community's Quality Work Group.
