Advinus Therapeutics (P) Ltd. And Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Establish Drug Discovery and Development Collaboration

Advinus Therapeutics (P) Ltd., a TATA Enterprise has announced a drug discovery and development collaboration with Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OMJPI).
Under the agreement, Advinus and OMJPI have agreed to develop drug candidates for various disease targets. Advinus will be responsible for drug discovery and early clinical development (until the completion of Phase 2a studies), while OMPJI will have an option to advance the drug candidates into late stage clinical trials and will be responsible for worldwide commercialization of the molecules. As per the agreement, Advinus will receive an upfront payment and could receive milestone payments of up to US$ 247 million upon successful development of two targets. Advinus is also eligible for royalties on the sales of any drug products resulting from the collaboration.

Posted by JOANN THOMAS on 07/09/2009, 10:30 HELLO, I AM THE PERSON THAT EMAILED THIS DRUG CO. 3 PLUS YEARS AGO ABOUT THE TOPAMAX BEING ADDICTABLE.THEY SENT ME A LETTER TO FILL OUT & TO SEND IT TO AN ADDRESS THAT HAD NO PHONE NUMBER.WHEN I CALLED THAT TOWN THAT STREET DIDN\'T EXSIST. I WAS SO SICK THAT I BECAME SUISIDLE.I COULDN\'T AFFORD THE MEDICINE & I AM ON MEDICARE.YOUR COMPANY SAID THAT I EXCEEDED THE AMOUNT OF INCOME WHERE I COULDN\'T GET MEDICATION.HOW LESS DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE?I FELT LIKE I WAS DYING.THEY UPDATED THE PAGE ON THE WEB,I COPIED THE OLD ORIGINAL.THIS DRUG COMPANY SHOULD LET THE DOCTORS AND PATIENTS KNOW THAT IF THEY ARE GOING TO STOP IT,THEY HAVE TO BE WEINED OFF IT VERY SLOWLYOR THEY WILL GO INTO A DEEP DEPRESSION LIKE I DID,NEXT NOT KNOWING WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME AND WANTING TO KILL MYSELF. AT THAT TIME,I DIDN\'T KNOW IT WAS BECAUSE I STOPPED TAKING THE TOPAMAX.ONE NIGHT MY HUSBAND & I WERE SITTING AT THE KITCHEN TABLE AND HE ASKED ME DID I STOP ANY MEDICINE?THEN I TOLD HIM.I DIDN\'T TELL HIM IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE I DIDN\'T THINK IT WOULD EFFECT ME. |
