More Walkers Wanted for Dartmoor Challenge
Keen walkers from Plymouth are being encouraged to sign up for the Dartmoor Challenge to raise money for charity.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for people to take part in the 10-mile walk across the moor.
The circular route will begin at Widecombe-in-the-Moor.
Community fundraiser Samantha Surridge said: “The challenge gives you the opportunity to explore areas of Dartmoor that are a bit more off the beaten track and feel that sense of achievement when you complete the challenge, not just for yourself but from supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care.”
The Dartmoor Challenge takes place on Sunday, October 12.
All registered participants will be entitled to a 10 per cent discount at any Black’s or Millet’s store in Plymouth (proof of registration is required).
The charity is also organising treks to the top of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, this weekend. Walkers will ascend more than 3,560 feet. There are two dates to choose from: Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5.
For either of the events the entry fee is pounds10 per person and all participants are asked to raise a minimum of pounds100 to support Marie Curie nursing care.
