Flu Vaccine Available at Various Sites for Those 18 and Older Starting Today

OLEAN — Cattaraugus County health officials have announced that flu vaccine supplies have arrived early and scheduled a monthlong series of adult immunization clinics, beginning today.

Vaccine for children younger than 18 is not yet available and parents are asked to contact health care providers to obtain it.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends vaccinations for everyone 6 months and older. The cost is $15 and many insurance companies can be billed by the county Health Department. Prescriptions will be accepted from health care professionals for Medicaid clients.

The pneumococcal vaccine, recommended for those 65 and older, is also available for $37.

Vaccine will be administered from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the South Dayton Nutrition Site, Free Methodist Church, 327 Pine St.; 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Cattaraugus Nutrition Site, Fireman’s Club House, Memorial Drive; and Delevan Nutrition Site, 78 S. Main St.

Clinics will resume from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Randolph Nutrition Site, Municipal Building, 72 Main St.; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Olean John Ash Center, 112 N. Barry St.; 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Wednesday, Allegany Nutrition Site, former Allegany High School, 80 N. Fourth St.; 10:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 9, Ellicottville Nutrition Site, Cornell Cooperative Extension, 25 Parkside Drive; and 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 10, Portville Nutrition Site, Masonic Temple, 14 Temple St.

Also, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 14, Franklinville Nutrition Site, Presbyterian Church, 24 S. Main St.; 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 15, Gowanda Nutrition Site, Free Methodist Church, 149 W.
